This listing is for the pictured James Monroe Masonic commemorative medal, shown in a clear plastic holder.

Item details

• Obverse features a portrait of James Monroe with "JAMES MONROE" above and "PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES" and "FREEMASON" below.

• Obverse also shows "LOUISIANA PURCHASE 1803" and "MONROE DOCTRINE 1823" with scrolls dated 1817 and 1825.

• Reverse displays the Masonic square and compasses with a "G" and radiating lines.

• Reverse text reads "INTERNATIONAL FRATERNAL COMMEMORATIVE SOCIETY" and "PEACE THROUGH BROTHERHOOD AND CHARITY."

• The medal has a reeded edge visible in the photos.

Condition

This item is used. The photos show visible wear, surface marks, and toning on both sides. There are dark spots and discoloration on the reverse, particularly near the left side and around the square and compasses. The obverse shows some light surface marks and a slight patina.
