Modern Ukraine—both its democratic leanings and its highly literary culture—traces its roots to the Kyivan Rus’.–This collection contains: 1) a silver 3 polker of Sigismund III Vasa, 2) a copper solidus of John II Casimir, 3) a kopek of Alexis of Russia, 4) a 2 kopek of Nicholas II, the last Romanov, 5) a Soviet 5 kopek from after the Holodomor, and 6) a Ukrainian 5 kopijok, struck in 1992.
