Pontus, Amisus, Gorgon Type under Mithradates NGC Slab(NG)

These Pontus, Amisus (Amisos) – Gorgon type coins, struck under Mithradates VI, feature the fearsome Gorgon head, an ancient apotropaic symbol meant to ward off evil and protect the bearer. Minted at Amisos, a major Black Sea city and royal mint, the design reflects both deep Greek mythological traditions and Mithradates’ use of powerful imagery to project strength and divine protection. Encapsulated in an NGC slab, the coin is preserved and authenticated, highlighting its historical significance and collectability.
