Designed by Adolph A. Weinman and struck in 90% silver. The coin shows substantial honest circulation wear with flattened high points, scattered marks and hairlines, and gray surface coloration. Brown/greenish residue or discoloration is visible around the lower obverse near the sun and date; its cause cannot be determined from the photos. Possible prior wiping/cleaning cannot be confirmed.
