Modern Morgan and Peace dollars: familiar designs in a new program

A historic date/mint table cannot supply modern anniversary specifications.

Reissues and the historic originals

The modern program begins in 2021 and revisits Morgan and Peace designs. Record the actual date, finish, mintmark, and any intentional privy mark. Historical CC or O designs on a modern anniversary product need their own program explanation; they do not make the coin a historic branch-mint issue.

Reflective fields need careful lighting

Photograph both faces under diffuse light and change the angle to distinguish reflections from hairlines. Proof, reverse proof, and uncirculated finishes should be established from the actual issue. Inspect contact marks, spots, rims, and high points; a sealed capsule cannot guarantee a perfect grade.

Compare the modern product

Use the same year, finish, mark, and included packaging in current sales. Historic silver content and old-dollar mintage are irrelevant unless an exact modern reference supports them. A 2021 anniversary comparison and an 1890s Morgan comparison belong to separate groups even when Liberty looks familiar.

Selected reviewed issue records

These catalog standards describe the named issue, not a measured specimen. The selected records below do not cover every date, mint, strike, or die variety. Reported production is labeled separately from established mintage. Unknown standards and mintage remain visible; survival estimates and certified populations are separate research questions.

No issue-level specification or mintage records are published for this category yet. Verify the exact date, mint, strike, metal, and subtype in its reference before using a numerical standard.

References and review

Reference reviewed October 5, 2026. Historical facts and catalog standards need to match the exact issue; price comparisons should be researched at the time of valuation.
