1846 United States Braided Hair Large Cent, one-cent denomination, struck in copper at the Philadelphia Mint. This is the actual ungraded coin shown in the photos.
The date, LIBERTY, ONE CENT and most surrounding lettering remain readable. The coin shows substantial circulation wear along with numerous old contact marks and scratches. There is localized greenish discoloration/residue near the lower-left obverse and scattered dark spots/pitting on the reverse. Surfaces are uneven and may show effects of prior environmental exposure; no specific cleaning history is known.
No Newcomb die variety or Small/Medium/Tall Date attribution is being claimed from these photos. No obvious major mint error is visible. Please review both photos carefully for the exact surfaces and condition.
